Ballyvolane House

The Green family’s gracious mansion is surrounded by its own farmland, magnificent wooded grounds, a trout lake and formal terraced gardens, all carefully managed and well maintained. The Italianate style of the present house - including a pillared hall with a baby grand piano and open fire -dates from the mid 19th century when modifications were made to the original house of 1728.

Justin Green and his wife Jenny now run Ballyvolane; they are an extremely hospitable couple, committed to ensuring that the standards of hospitality, comfort and food for which this lovely house is renowned will be maintained - perfect hosts for wedding parties.

There is a choice of churches in the area and wedding blessings can be arranged at Ballyvolane, which has big log fires, beautifully proportioned rooms including a fine formal ding room, and luxurious bedrooms looking out over beautiful grounds - a perfect backdrop for wedding photographs.

This wedding venues got no formal wedding planning (or wedding cake) service, but the Greenes can arrange anything the bride and bridegroom would like, including vintage car hire, helicopters, spa & beauty treatments and hair dressing - and there is a very flexible attitude to menu planning.

The bride and groom’s bedroom gets ‘a proper wedding night makeover’ with candles, flower petals, champagne, strawberries and chocolates, and breakfasts are served until noon every day, which is very popular with wedding guests - who also hugely appreciate the complimentary Bloody Mary cocktails handed out during breakfast.

In 2011 the Green's introduced a beautiful Bohemian tent room in the gardens specifically for weddings. What we are offering is totally unique and the feedback from brides-to-be to date has been fantastic.  The tent room suits the setting in the gardens perfectly.

It has reclaimed timber poles supporting the roof. The entire structure is clad in vintage canvas and the side and front canvas walls can be rolled up and tied with a ribbon if it's a nice day. The floor is made up of sandstone flags and the ceiling is lined with exotic fabric and antique tin lanterns will hang from the ceiling. The structure is attached to an old stable and the dancing and bar will be located inside the stables which has the old stone walls showing.
