The Olde Post Inn
Gearoid and Tara Lynch’s restaurant is in an old stone building in a neatly landscaped garden which served as a post office until 1974 and, since then, has made an attractive and popular inn. Gearoid is a talented chef and, with Tara managing front of house with efficiency and charm, they make a good team - since taking over here in 2002, they have earned a reputation for fine food and genuine hospitality that draws guests from well beyond the region. This wedding venues got several churches nearby - including a Church of Ireland just across the road - and there’s a pleasant rural atmosphere about the place, which has a proper bar for your drinks reception and an old-world style throughout, with bare walls, dark beams and simple wooden furniture; but, comfortably rustic as it may seem, that is far from the case in the kitchen, and elegantly-appointed tables with crisp white linen and gleaming glasses are a hint of the treats to come.
This is a happy ship, with the talent and dedication of a good kitchen team ensuring a meal to remember. And, although not especially luxurious, the accommodation offered is moderately priced.
For gatherings of between 25 and 40 people they can provide a private dining room. And for between 70 and 90 guests the "house" will be closed to all other patrons. The Olde Post Inn will create a tailormade menu to your liking incorporating the very best produce.
